A Performance Preview of How each team ranks so far in the Dream11 IPL

The last 10 days have brought back joy among many fans around India and also in many other countries as the Indian Premier League has started. After such a disastrous 2020, the fans couldn't have asked for more as the IPL as always didn't disappoint us. In the last 10 matches, we have witnessed everything from super overs to 200+ targets getting chased. It has been a rollercoaster ride for the teams as well as the fans. Just a few days the IPL has started and everyone has been on the edge of their seats, that's why it is the greatest league in the world.

In the 13th edition of IPL, we have seen brilliant performances from the youngsters like Sanju Samson, Mayank Agarwal, Ravi Bishnoi, Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tewatia, Ishan Kishan, Devdutt Padikkal, Shubman Gill and many more…..

Let's see how each team rate so far in the IPL.

1) Delhi Capitals

(9.5/10)

Delhi Capitals(DC) have really been in exceptional form with both bat and ball. They are the only complete side in the tournament with every player contributing in team's victory. Marcus Stoinis was the star all-rounder in their 1st match against KXIP as he scored 30 runs in the last over and defended 1run in 3 balls to see his side through super over where Rabada did what he does best and won the match for DC. Prithvi Shaw was their star with bat against CSK as DC defeated them with ease securing top spot in the Points table. All and all it was an all round performance from the young Delhi side led by Shreyas Iyer (the youngest captain in this year's IPL).

2) Rajasthan Royals

(9/10)

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been a powerhouse of batting so far in the IPL with Sanju Samson smashing bowlers all over the park with ease. They have scored 200+ in both their matches and also registering highest successful chase in IPL history. Smith and Samson have been in tremendous form scoring 50s in both the matches. But, Rahul Tewatia was the player to watch out for his all round performance as he smashed 5 sixes in an over to see his side past the finish against KXIP and also taking 3 wickets against CSK. He can be the solution to RR's middle order problems as Ben Stokes is still unavailable. RR has not been good with the bowl though even after the likes of Jofra Archer and Tom Curran in the team. Their performance will be the key for RR's success in the tournament.

3) Royal Challengers Bangalore

(8/10)

After a winning start in the tournament RCB were looking forward to keep that momentum going, but in the second match against KXIP a century from Rahul and a poor performance from their Captain Virat Kohli caused them a loss. As always RCB's bowling has been not up to the mark with Umesh Yadav and Dale Steyn leaking runs. Chahal was the only bowler who was looking good for RCB. Devillers and Padikkal have performed pretty well for their side which is not enough as Virat Kohli who is their main batsman has not been performing good. Kohli also dropped 2 catches of Rahul in span 6 balls which caused them the game. They later defeated MI in thriller Super over but still there are death bowling concerns as they conceded about 90 runs in last 5. Navdeep bowled well in the 19th and the super over. Padikkal, Finch and AB are in great but If RCB needs to a good tournament Kohli has to step up. Also for their bowling RCB Morris would be great option. A proper balance in the side would be the key for RCB in the tournament.

4) Mumbai Indians

(7.5/10)

Mumbai Indians(MI) winning 1 of their 3 matches have performed like an average side which was clearly not expected of them seeing the strength in their lineup. After losing the first match against CSK the mighty MI bounced back against KKR scoring 190 runs and defeating them with ease. Rohit Sharma was exceptional with the bat alongside Surya Kumar Yadav. Middle order showed their value against RCB as they took a clearly lost match to a Super over all thanks to Kishan(99) and Pollard .The bowling has also been pretty good as Pattison and Boult have performed really well, but Bumrah has stuggled getting smashed all over the park. Spin bowling has been a issue for the side. If MI needs to find success in the tournament their key player Quinton De Cock needs to step up. Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya also need to perform well.

5) Kolkata Knight Riders

(7/10)

The Explosive KKR side also have been an average side in this tournament. After losing their 1st Match against MI they came back really strong and corrected their issues against SRH. Cummins who went to cleaners in the 1 match performed exceptionally well against SRH to restrict them to a low total. Shubman Gill was a please to watch as he made sure his team's first victory alongside Morgan. KKR are highly dependent on Russell and Narine which may cause a problem later, they need to set a proper batting order and each player should be clear with their roles in the team. On the bowling front, the young guns Mavi and Nagarkoti have bowled pretty good alongside the experienced Cummins. The presence of Morgan would help DK in leading the side. A proper planning would lead them to success in the tournament.

6) Kings XI Punjab

(7/10)

The Points table does not do justice to how KXIP have performed in the tournament. With the Orange and Purple cap holder both from their side, they should have been on top of the charts. The first match was clearly in their hands with 1 required from 3 balls, but an exceptional performance from Stoinis led the match to super over where they dazzled out for 1 run. They came back hard against RCB in the next match with Rahul scoring the 1st century of this year's IPL and Ravi Bishnoi and M Ashwin rumbled out RCB cheaply. The last match against RR which was one of the best matches witnessed in T20 cricket history was a nightmare for the bowlers. Punjab batting first scored 223 runs with a brilliant century from Mayank Agarwal and a 50 from Rahul. Win was looking easy for them but RR had other plans as they chased the target thanks to Samson, Smith and Tewatia. KXIP have performed really well but they need to learn to hold their nerves during tough situations which they have not been doing causing them defeats.

7) Chennai Super Kings

(5/10)

CSK which consists of highly experienced players have not been performing as per their standards. They started their tournament well with an easy win over MI thanks to Rayudu and Faf with the bat and Sam Curran and Lungi Ngidi with the ball. But later Rayudu's injury showed the real face of CSK as they have been struggling to score runs losing 2 matches consecutively. Except Faf no one is performing and Dhoni's position still a question, CSK are in big worries as their spinners Jadeja and Chawla are been taken to cleaners and L Ngidi conceded 30 runs in last over against Archer. CSK need to solve these issues otherwise I don't think they would make it to the playoffs.

8) Sunrisers Hyderabad

(4/10)

Sunrisers who have always been a consistent team have been winless in the tournament. Even after the likes of Warner, Manish and Bairstow their batting looks weak as their middle order is pretty weak. The injury of Mitchell Marsh also added concerns to the side. The bowling department also isn't performing well. Bhuvi and Rashid who are key bowlers have underperformed highly. Williamson should be brought back in the side in place of Nabi as he will be a key in the middle order alongside Manish. The bowlers also need to step up. A lot of thinking needs to be done on their side especially the middle order otherwise the tournament is over for them.
